Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mother, Heeraben Modi, was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday, and her health is said to be stable.
“Heeraben Modi, mother of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is hospitalised to UN Mehta Institute of Cardiology & Research Centre in Ahmedabad and her health status is stable,” the hospital stated in a statement.
During his campaigning for the recently completed Gujarat assembly elections, the prime minister paid a visit to his mother, who turned 100 this June.
Heeraben also voted in the second round of the Gujarat Assembly elections.
