NIA arrested Chhota Shakeel's brother-in-law Salim Fruit in connection with Dawood gang.

The National Investigation Agency revealed in February of this year that Dawood Ibrahim was planning to launch terror attacks on India.

The National Investigation Agency has arrested Mumbai Chhota Shakeel’s brother-in-law Salim Qureshi alias Salim Fruit in connection with a case involving the Dawood Ibrahim gang.

The NIA arrested two terrorists in this case on May 12. This is the third arrest in the NIA’s suo motu FIR registered on February 3 against Dawood Ibrahim and terrorists present in his network.

According to reports, Salim Fruit was actively involved in extorting large sums of money in the name of Chhota Shakeel. These funds were used to fund terrorism and the D-criminal company’s activities.


The probe agency registered a case against Dawood Ibrahim, his brother Anees and Chhota Shakeel in connection with arms smuggling, narco-terrorism, money laundering, circulation of fake Indian currency notes, and unauthorized possession of assets for the purpose of raising terror funds, also in active cooperation with international terrorist organizations like Lashkar -e-Taiba (LET).


The National Investigation Agency revealed in February of this year that Dawood Ibrahim was planning to launch terror attacks on India. According to reports, the underworld don formed a special unit to incite violence in various parts of the country.


Enforcement Directorate raided nine locations in Mumbai and one in Thane. As per NIA, Dawood Ibrahim had plans to assassinate a few political leaders and prominent businessmen, as well as to destroy the cities of Delhi and Mumbai.
