Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the Congress, will spend the next 150 days in a container as part of his “Bharat Jodo Yatra,” which he is starting today from Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu.

The Congress is commencing the “Bharat Jodo Yatra” on Wednesday, in what is being hailed as a “masterstroke” to challenge the Narendra Modi administration in the forthcoming 2024 elections. Rahul Gandhi will begin the 3,570 km (approximately 150 days) long journey from Kanyakumari to Kashmir.

Some important concerns about Rahul Gandhi’s housing and floods arise as the party launches the nationwide yatra. The party has stated, however, that he will not stay in a hotel but will instead do the entire route in a straightforward manner.

In the container, Rahul Gandhi will remain for 150 days. Some of the containers also have sleeping quarters, restrooms, and air conditioning. There will be numerous different climate and environmental conditions along the way. The arrangements were made with the new location’s extreme heat and humidity in mind.

“About 60 such containers have been prepared and sent to Kanyakumari where a village has been set up in which all these containers have been placed. The container will be parked in a new place every day in the shape of a village for night rest. Full-time Yatris who stay with Rahul Gandhi will eat together and stay close,” said the sources.

The sources added that Rahul Gandhi considers his participation in the Bharat Jodo Yatra as a way to engage with ordinary people.

“So he wants to complete this entire journey in a simple way away from the glitz and glamour. Rahul Gandhi calls it a journey but political analysts consider it a preparation for 2024,” the sources added.

Rahul Gandhi was present at a prayer gathering on Wednesday at the Rajiv Gandhi Memorial in Sriperumbudur. On May 21, 1991, while running for the Lok Sabha, his father Rajiv Gandhi was slain in a bombing in Sriperumbudur.
