The illegal Supertech twin towers, which stand taller than the Qutub Minar, will be demolished, making them the tallest structures ever demolished in India.
The Residents Welfare Association (RWA) has completed all essential preparations for Supertech’s twin, 40-story towers at its Emerald project in Noida to be demolished on August 28 at 2:30 PM.
According to the Supreme Court, the twin towers can now be demolished with explosives. The demolition was set to commence on August 21, but the court approved the Noida Authority’s request to postpone it until August 28.
The twin skyscrapers will be dismantled due to major construction code breaches. According to the Supreme Court, the Noida Authority and Supertech had engaged in “nefarious collaboration,” and the company was ordered to destroy the building at its own expense under the supervision of the Noida Authority and an expert organisation such as the Central Building Research Institute.
At least 3,700 kilogrammes of explosives would be used on August 28, to demolish Supertech’s two 40-story skyscrapers in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The explosive wire connections, which have been put on every floor, will be finished in two to three days. Explosives have been put in the Twin Towers during the last two weeks.
“Following the evacuation, the lights, elevators, and water supply will be turned off. All maintenance personnel, as well as people from surrounding societies, will be evacuated to a secure zone.
