Irfan Pathan's remark for India's potential as a "great country" sparks a backlash from Amit Mishra

On Friday, Amit Mishra, a former India and Delhi Capitals spinner, took a swipe at Irfan Pathan.

Irfan had written a cryptic remark about the country’s political affairs: “My country, my beautiful country, has the potential to be the greatest country on earth.BUT………”

Many feel Pathan’s tweet was in response to ongoing tensions between the two religious communities, and Mishra’s reply to the message was a subtle dig at the former bowler.

After ‘BUT,’ he cynically concluded Pathan’s remark, writing: “My country, my beautiful country, has the potential to be the greatest country on earth…..only if some people realise that our constitution is the first book to be followed.”

Despite the fact that none of the players explained the context of their tweets, it is evident that they were referring to recent conflicts between the two factions during the Hanuman Jayanti and Mahavir Jayanti processions.
