Aheda of the begenning of the new season of the IPL 2024, the organisers launches a new advertisement featuring Rohit Sharma, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) captain KL Rahul and the bollywood start and KL Rahul’s father in law Sunil Shetty.

In the video, Sunil Shetty, who is a Mumbai Indians supporter, and Rohit Sharma can be observed teasing KL Rahul.

“We are having a family dinner, buddy?” Rohit can be heard saying in the advertisement. Rahul then jokingly refers to Shetty as “Papa” in the ad, but Shetty surprises the LSG captain by responding, “No, Papa. As long as the tournament is ongoing, Sharma ji’s son is my son.”

This amusing advertisement has gained widespread popularity on social media, and Rohit shared a clip of it on X (formerly Twitter). “Family time is over, @klrahul, now it’s time for rivalry to begin! @SunielVShetty, you’re with us now,” Rohit captioned the video.

Meanwhile, Rohit is set to play under Hardik Pandya’s leadership this season following his removal as captain by Mumbai Indians.

During MI’s training session on Wednesday, Hardik and Rohit greeted each other warmly with a hug.

When asked about discussing the leadership change with Rohit, Pandya provided a straightforward response, saying, “Yes and No. I haven’t had much time to chat with Rohit as he’s been on tour. We’ll definitely catch up when he joins the team.”

Pandya also emphasized that Rohit will continue to mentor him during the IPL despite the unexpected leadership change announced by the franchise.

“It won’t be any different; he’ll always support me. The team’s achievements have been under his guidance, and I just need to carry that forward. He’ll be there for me,” Pandya mentioned during a media interaction.

Regarding fans’ reactions to Rohit’s removal, Pandya remarked, “We value our fans, but our focus is on the game and what’s necessary. I concentrate on what I can control; fans are entitled to their opinions, and I respect that.”
