Amit Shah on election loss: Thank the people of Karnataka for giving us the opportunity to serve

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who led the BJP’s campaign in the state alongside Prime Minister Narendra Modi, thanked the people of Karnataka for giving his party the chance to serve them for so many years as the Congress sailed past the halfway point in Karnataka on Saturday and headed for a resounding victory in the Assembly elections.

Home Minister Amit Shah from his official Twitter handle said, “My sincere gratitude to the people of Karnataka for giving the BJP the opportunity to serve them for so many years.” “The BJP under the leadership of PM @narendramodi Ji will continue to strive for the welfare and development of the people of Karnataka,” he stated.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the Congress party on its victory in the southern state earlier in the day. “Congratulations to the Congress Party for their victory in the Karnataka Assembly polls. My best wishes to them in fulfilling people’s aspirations,” he said.

PM Modi also expressed his gratitude to the BJP karyakartas (workers) and supporters for their dedication during the campaign. “I thank all those who have supported us in the Karnataka elections. I appreciate the hard work of BJP karyakartas. We shall serve Karnataka with even more vigour in the time to come,” he stated on Twitter.

Congress on Saturday won an absolute majority in Karnataka Assembly polls, winning 113 seats of the 224-member house midway through the counting of votes.

People of Karnataka defeated the politics of hatred: Rahul Gandhi

Rahul Gandhi, the leader of Congress, praised the party’s victory in Karnataka earlier in the day, announcing that the people of Karnataka had defeated the politics of hatred.

Congress leader, while talking to the media in party headquarters at Delhi said that Congress came in the support of the poor. “The poor defeated crony capitalists in Karnataka. What I really liked about this election is that we did not fight the battle with hatred. We fought the elections with love,” Rahul said.

The Congress leader further went on to say “I want to thank all the party leaders and workers in Karnataka. Karnataka mein Nafrat ki bazaar band hui hai, Mohabbat ki dukaane khuli hai (The politics of hate has been defeated in Karnataka, love has won). We fought on the issues of the poor. We did not fight this battle using hatred or wrong words. This victory will be replicated in other states.”
