Parvesh Verma, a BJP MP, said Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao’s family members attended discussions on the creation of the now-scrapped Delhi excise policy in a five-star hotel on Sunday, drawing him into the ongoing controversy.
According to Verma, West Bengal has adopted a “similar” excise scheme to the one in Telangana.
“Family members of Telangana CM K Chandrashekar Rao held meetings at the Oberoi Hotel to discuss the creation of the Delhi excise policy. The Punjabi government adopted the same idea thanks to KCR’s family. In collaboration with Manish Sisodia and Arvind Kejriwal, they created a strategy for Delhi “Asserted Verma.
The BJP leader said that two of the suspects in the case left the country as soon as the CBI began looking into the case in response to Look Out Circulars the CBI issued against eight people identified in the FIR filed in the excise policy “scam” case and he uploaded a video which takes a jibe at the article which was published in the US’ biggest news daily.
He explained, “The Look Out Circular has been issued to stop others from running.
In addition, Verma said that between 2014 and 2021, Sisodia and his wife spent almost Rs 22 lakh on medical care at private hospitals rather than using government facilities.
The BJP MP added that talks were conducted in an Oberoi Hotel suite where the excise policy of the Delhi government was developed.
“Manish Sisodia, the deputy chief minister, the excise commissioner, representatives from the excise department, certain members of the liquor mafia, and KCR’s family were among those present at these meetings. Sisodia received the first payment of Rs 150 crore under the agreement, which increased the booze mafia’s profit by 10% “He said.
Verma also claimed that Telangana CM KCR’s daughter “K Kavitha functioned as a conduit” between the liquor mafia and the AAP administration.
Sisodia must address these accusations head-on and provide an apology to the public for the “scam,” he vehemently insisted.
He also accused Manish Sisodia of practicing Caste-Politics over a spat on Twitter.
K Kavitha is a Kamareddy & Nizamabad Legislative Council member for the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS), the state’s dominant political party.
TRS responded to the allegations exclusively on NewsX, “The truth is out in open now, that the Bhartiya Janta Party is running the Directorate of Enforcement (ED), the whole modus operandi as no legal authority has reached or issued a summon but now the BJP is holding a press conference declaring that the TRS is involved and directing the ED to take actions.
They are throwing mud at us for no good reason,” said Krishank.
He also added, “BJP has tall claims, but it has to remember or must be reminded that they are not the Supreme court, and they can’t go around passing verdicts. They must elucidate upon the sources of the allegations that they have and how exactly are they getting this evidence.”
He also responded to the allegation of meeting AAP leader, “I make it clear that no such meetings have taken place, nor any TRS leader or KCR’s family has participated, it is just politically motivated to throw mud at us if the BJP has any evidence it must show those and also illuminate some light on how did they get them.”
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) conducted 31 raids on Friday, including one at Sisodia’s home, concerning the Excise Policy 2021–22 anomalies in the Delhi government.
In an FIR filed by the CBI concerning suspected anomalies in the application of the excise policy, Sisodia is one of 13 individuals identified as accused.
In the FIR, the CBI also listed two firms.
The CBI conducted its searches on Friday as a result of Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena’s recommendation that the agency looks into the alleged procedural errors and rule breaches in the implementation of the policy that went into force on November 17 of last year.
In July, after Saxena suggested the investigation, the Delhi government rescinded the excise policy.
