Identified as Anil Kumar, the accused, a resident of Basra village, reportedly carried out the gruesome act with a sickle, suspecting his wife of infidelity.

The couple, married for eight years, became embroiled in tragedy when Anil Kumar allegedly took the extreme step out of suspicion of his wife’s alleged affair. The chilling incident unfolded in Basra village on Friday, with witnesses reporting seeing Anil Kumar walking barefoot on the streets, holding his wife’s decapitated head in one hand and a sickle in the other.

Confirming the arrest, Barabanki Superintendent of Police, Dinesh Kumar Singh, stated, “The accused, Anil Kumar, has been arrested. The woman’s body has also been recovered and sent for post-mortem examination. The couple had been married for eight years and have two children.” Singh emphasized that the authorities are actively investigating the matter to ascertain further details surrounding the gruesome crime.
