In response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s nationwide call for temple cleanliness, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh actively participated in the SwachhTeerth campaign by sweeping the floor of Hanuman Setu temple in Lucknow. The minister, who was in the city for Army Day events, took the opportunity to contribute to the cleanliness initiative and offered prayers after the act.

In a post on ‘X’, Rajnath Singh shared his experience and mentioned that Prime Minister Modi had urged all citizens to engage in temple cleaning activities. The SwachhTeerth campaign focuses on cleaning temples across the country and will continue until January 22, coinciding with the consecration ceremony at the Ayodhya Ram temple.

Reflecting on the significance of the upcoming ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony on January 22, where the idol of Ram Lalla will be installed, Rajnath Singh expressed joy for Lord Ram devotees and people across the world participating in the event. He highlighted the profound importance of the ceremony, emphasizing the collective joy it brings to the nation.

The SwachhTeerth campaign has gained momentum, with senior BJP leaders, Union ministers, and chief ministers actively participating in cleanliness drives at various temples nationwide. On Sunday, BJP president JP Nadda initiated the nationwide cleanliness drive at temples, aligning with the broader goal of maintaining cleanliness and sanctity at religious sites.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been a prominent advocate for cleanliness drives, exemplified by his recent participation in the Swachchata Abhiyan campaign at Maharashtra’s Kalaram Temple. He urged citizens to engage in Swachhata activities at temples in preparation for the consecration ceremony of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya on January 22.
