The inaugural China-Arab States Summit was held on the afternoon of December 9 at the King Abdulaziz International Conference Center in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia’s capital. The Riyadh Declaration of the First China-Arab States Summit was released, which said that China and Arab States resolved to work together to construct a China-Arab community with a “shared future in the new era.” The Summit was attended by Chinese President Xi Jinping, as well as leaders from the Arab League’s 21 member countries.

The leaders stated in a declaration published during the inaugural China-Arab States Summit that they want to broaden the potential for the China-Arab strategic relationship.

According to the declaration, China and Arab nations are committed to developing China-Arab cooperation in many domains through the mechanisms established by the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum.

The two sides resolved to go above and above to create a China-Arab community with a common destiny in the new century.

Notably, the proclamation said that the Arab governments support China in preserving its sovereignty and territorial integrity and that Taiwan is an integral part of China’s territory.
