Police arrest owner, contractor over Narela footwear factory fire

The owner and a contractor of the footwear factory in Narela, where a fire broke out the day before and left two people dead and 18 wounded, have been detained by Delhi police.

Sahil Garg, the owner of the plant, and Vasudev Yadav, a contractor, were detained in this matter. Following a fire incident on Tuesday, Delhi Police filed a charge under several sections of the Indian Penal Code against the proprietor of a footwear factory in Narela.

The injured people are receiving treatment at the Ram Manohar Lohia and Safdarjung hospitals.

“A PCR call was received this morning at 9:41 am stating that a fire had started on the second floor of a footwear business in the E block of the Narela Industrial Area.
