After Kamal Haasan, Thalapathy Vijay Generously Donates Rs 1 Crore To Nadigar Sangam Building

Although the construction of the building commenced in 2017, it faced various obstacles along the way. In 2010, plans were made to demolish the Nadigar Sangam building and erect a new one in its place

Thalapathy Vijay has generously donated a substantial amount of Rs 1 crore towards the construction of a building for the South Indian Artistes’ Association. Actor Vishal shared the news, along with a photo of himself with the actor-turned-politician, expressing gratitude for Vijay’s contribution.

Vishal posted the picture on X and captioned it, “@actorvijay Thank u means just two words but means a lot to a person wen he does it from his heart. Well, am talking about my favourite actor our very own #ThalapathiVijay brother for DONATING ONE CRORE towards our #SIAA #NadigarSangam building work. God bless u (sic).”

Previously, Kamal Haasan had also extended support to the building’s construction by donating Rs 1 crore. Although the construction of the building commenced in 2017, it faced various obstacles along the way.

In 2010, plans were made to demolish the Nadigar Sangam building and erect a new one in its place. However, subsequent events resulted in a rift between Sarathkumar and his daughter Varalaxmi on one side, and Vishal and Kamal on the other.

Sarathkumar took over the lease of the land after the demolition, but this move was contested. Following a re-election, Vishal and Nassar assumed the roles of General Secretary and President of the association, respectively.
