Ajay Devgn is gearing up for the release of ‘Maidaan’, one of the most ambitious films of his career. The flick has garnered attention because of its stellar cast and captivating teaser. On Thursday, March 7, the makers shared the official trailer of ‘Maidaan’ to pique the curiosity of fans.

The video introduces the audience to Syed Abdul Rahim, one of the pioneers of Indian football, as he gears up to groom the Indian team for the Asian Games despite the odds being stacked against him. 

In several compelling sequences, he tries to motivate his team. He also tells them to be united at all costs. The trailer features glimpses of his personal life. In a memorable scene, he interacts with his wife and son. Football sequences, unsurprisingly, feature prominently in the trailer. They have been executed well and look convincing.

‘Maidaan’ is a sports drama directed by Amit Sharma of ‘Badhaai Ho’ fame. Besides Ajay Devgn, it features Priyamani and Gajraj Rao in the lead. It is produced by Zee Studios, Boney Kapoor, Arunava Joy Sengupta, and Akash Chawla. ‘Maidaan’ went on the floors in 2019 and faced numerous delays in production. It is finally slated to hit screens this Eid. 

‘Maidaan’ will be Ajay Devgn’s first release after ‘Shaitaan’, set to open in theatres on March 8. The horror-thriller is directed by Vikas Behl. It explores the clash between good and evil. It also features R Madhavan and Jyotika in key roles. Devgn will also be seen in ‘Raid 2’ and ‘Singham Again’.

The latter is a part of the Rohit Shetty Cop Universe and features the Shivaay star as a dangerous police officer.. Its cast includes Ranveer Singh, Akshay Kumar, Arjun Kapoor, and Deepika Padukone. The film is expected to hit screens in August alongside Allu Arjun’s ‘Pushpa 2’.
