A remake of the Gujarati film ‘Vash,’ ‘Shaitaan’ faced scrutiny from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), leading to a U/A rating with suggested modifications. The board recommended alterations to disassociate the film from the promotion of black magic, resulting in the addition of a disclaimer.

Furthermore, a scene involving blood was toned down, an abusive term was replaced with a scream, and a message on responsible drinking was incorporated, ultimately setting the film’s runtime at 132 minutes.

Produced by Ajay Devgn, Jyoti Deshpande, Kumar Mangat Pathak, and Abhishek Pathak under the banners of Jio Studios, Devgn Films, and Panorama Studios, ‘Shaitaan’ is presented by the same entities. The movie hit theaters on March 8, 2024.
