Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh has received a threatening voice note allegedly linked to the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang, prompting swift action from the Mumbai Police. The WhatsApp audio message, reportedly sent to the actor’s manager, is now under detailed investigation by the Mumbai Crime Branch.
Police sources say the voice note was routed through a Virtual Private Network (VPN) and traced to a US-based number, complicating efforts to identify the origin of the threat.
Look Out Circular Issued Against ‘Harry Boxer’
In the latest development, Mumbai Police have issued a Look Out Circular (LOC) against Harichandra alias “Harry Boxer,” who is believed to be associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Officials suspect he was behind the threatening message demanding a ransom of Rs.20 crore from the actor.
According to investigators, the sender of the voice note identified himself as Harry Boxer. The audio clip has been forwarded to authorities in Punjab and Haryana for voice verification and further forensic analysis.
Preliminary findings suggest that the voice in the recording may belong to a close aide of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. Investigators are examining whether the accused used masking technology or previously recorded samples to conceal his identity.
Who Is Harry Boxer?
Harichand, known as Harry Boxer, is said to be a Rajasthan native and an alleged associate of the Lawrence Bishnoi network. His name has surfaced in multiple high-profile threat and extortion cases targeting celebrities.
He recently drew attention after allegedly claiming responsibility along with other gang associates for a firing incident outside the residence of filmmaker Rohit Shetty in Mumbai. In that case, several arrests have already been made as investigations continue.
Authorities are now tightening surveillance and expanding the probe to determine whether the threat to Ranveer Singh is part of a broader pattern of intimidation aimed at public figures.
Further investigation is underway, with police focusing on digital forensics, call records and international cooperation to track down those responsible.
International Trail And Ransom Demand
Officials revealed that the threatening message was allegedly sent using an international number. Reports indicate that two to three calls were also made to Ranveer Singh’s manager, Vijay Subramanian, on February 10.
Law enforcement agencies are now coordinating with US authorities to trace the number’s origin and digital footprint. Investigators believe the accused may be operating from Canada, where several alleged gang affiliates are suspected to be based.
Police sources added that the use of VPN services and overseas routing has been a recurring tactic in similar extortion attempts linked to the gang.
