Four people were detained in connection with a fake cash operation that was found in Nagaon, according to police on Tuesday.
The authorities also removed note-making equipment and phoney currency worth around Rs 20 lakhs from the scene. According to Officer-in-Charge of Nagaon police, Manoj Rajbongshi, “the scam was broken when the police detained a guy in Nagaon who had 18 pieces of fake gold jewellery and he provided some information regarding the fake currency notes scheme during interrogation.”
The accused’s leased home in Nagaon is where the arrests were made.
“With the assistance of the Guwahati municipal police, we launched an operation in the Bhetapara neighbourhood of Guwahati on Monday night and made four arrests as a result of those informational inputs. From the residence, we also retrieved two phoney note makers, one piece of fake gold, and other things. By utilising phoney gold and false cash notes, they have defrauded victims “the police stated.
The four suspects that were apprehended have been named Rima Baishya, Mafikul Islam, Sadikul Islam, and Aijul Rahman.
The Assam police detained a guy earlier on Sunday for having and selling fake gold items.
18 phoney gold items were also seized by the police. The district of Nagaon is where the arrest was made.

400 kg of marijuana were found and one individual was detained in the Nagaon district earlier on September 3 as a result of a combined operation by the Assam Police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).
