**Jammu and Kashmir Cloudburst Live:*12 Reported Dead, Death Count Likely To Increase
Jammu and Kashmir Cloudburst Live: Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district was jolted by a massive cloudburst and 12 people were reported dead from a remote village en route the Machail Mata Yatra as reported by PTI. Earlier, the news agency had reported that at least 10 people were feared to have died in this cloudburst. However, as the rescue operations continue, the death toll is likely to increase. A Nowcast alert has been issued by a Meteorological Centre Srinagar that indicated moderate to heavy rainfall. As per the alert, the moderate to heavy rainfall will be accompanied by brief intense showers, thunder, lightning, and gusty winds across many parts of Jammu & Kashmir over the next 4–6 hours.
My thoughts and prayers are with all those affected by the cloudburst and flooding in Kishtwar, Jammu and Kashmir. The situation is being monitored closely. Rescue and relief operations are underway. Every possible assistance will be provided to those in need.
