Hyderabad Police have uncovered a renowned organised ring of prostitution rackets and rescued 14,190 women from throughout the country, including foreigners.
According to authorities, up to 17 persons have been detained in connection with the investigation. Officials stated that the rescued victims come from Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Assam, Bangladesh, Nepal, Thailand, Uzbekistan, and Russia, among other places.
Salman, Shailendra Prasad, Jogeswar Rao, Mohd Afsar, Irfan, Adeem, Sameer, Harbhinder Kaur, Adeem, SofinPatel, Saibabu Goud, Gangadhari, Sai Sudheer, and Sarbeshwar Rout are among those detained.
According to officials, the suspects were apprehended in several raids conducted by the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit of Cyberabad Police in Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and other locations during the previous two months.
According to them, the raids were carried out based on information obtained through sources.
Officials stated that suspects disclosed during questioning that they were conducting an organised sex racket and bringing victims from all across India. They would place advertisements on websites, contact consumers via call centres and WhatsApp, and even arrange hotels and collect money for this organised prostitution.
Further they added “People from many states were also participating in the scam. They would form subject-specific WhatsApp groups, such as organisers, suppliers, ad makers, website and call centre personnel, and communicate with one another for business purposes.”
The accused dragged the majority of victims into prostitution by luring them with a luxurious lifestyle, easy money, and, in some cases, under the guise of providing jobs.
Thirty percent of the money gathered from customers went to the victims, 35 percent went to advertisements and contact centre employees, and 35 percent went to the organisers.
They stated that the organisers used to deal with other organisers and receive a commission from their clients as a result.
“The accused Adeem, Sameer, Salman, Arnav, Salman, Mohd Afsar, and Jogeshwar were among the primary organisers, operating the racket for up to 16 years or more, pushing thousands of victims into prostitution,” authorities claimed.
The accused was charged under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act and other pertinent laws, and the police were examining the matter further.
