The bomb that was seized from Amritsar on August 16 had an IED that weighed 2.5 kg, according to Punjab Police.

RN Dhoke, ADGP, said, “IED found in this bomb weighs approximately 2.5 kgs. It looks like the same IED which had been recovered from Tarn Taran and had come from Pakistan. We’re looking into a suspected terror angle. Several teams deployed, we should know more within 24 hours. IED found in this bomb weighs approximately 2.5 kgs. In Amritsar, Punjab, two men riding  bikes are accused of planting a bomb under a police car on Tuesday.

Around 2 am this morning, CCTV captured the accused while they were putting the device under the car.An FIR has been registered in the case.

Police claim that a detonator was placed under the car that was parked in front of sub-inspector Dilbag Singh’s home.

SI Dilbag Singh claimed that because he had worked in Punjab during the militancy era, he was the target of this attack.

“Bomb was placed under my car. My car cleaner informed me about it. CCTV footage shows two men putting something under my car at around 2 am. I have worked during militancy and that’s why they kept it,” he said, according to media report.
