On Tuesday, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi paid a visit to motorcycle mechanics’ workshops in Karol Bagh, Delhi. He shared pictures of his visit on Facebook, expressing his admiration for the mechanics and their contribution to keeping the wheels of India moving. The Indian National Congress tweeted in Hindi, acknowledging the significance of these mechanics and describing Gandhi as a hero of the people who encourages and supports their work. This surprise visit is part of Gandhi’s ongoing “Bharat Jodo Yatra,” which has covered over 4,000 kilometres.

In a similar vein, during his recent six-day trip to the United States, Gandhi rode in a truck from Washington DC to New York, accompanying a Punjabi truck driver. Additionally, a month ago, he took a late-night truck ride from Delhi to Chandigarh with another Punjabi driver to gain insights into their lives and daily struggles.

Earlier in May, Gandhi visited Delhi University’s PG Men’s Hostel during lunchtime and shared a meal with the students.

These surprise visits and interactions highlight Rahul Gandhi’s efforts to connect with ordinary people, understand their challenges, and support their endeavours.
