Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has joined her brother Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Uttar Pradesh’s Moradabad, marking a significant moment in the ongoing political journey. This comes over a month after the Bharat Jodo Yatra began its course.

The duo is set to travel through various cities in Uttar Pradesh, including Fatehpur Sikri, Amroha, Sambhal, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, Hathras, and Agra. Party officials have confirmed Priyanka Gandhi’s participation in the yatra alongside Rahul Gandhi.

Initially scheduled to join the yatra last week when it entered Uttar Pradesh through Chandauli district, Priyanka Gandhi had to postpone her plans due to health reasons. Expressing her regret over missing the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra on February 16, she shared her sentiments on social media, saying, “I was really looking forward to receiving the BJNY in UP today but unfortunately, have ended up admitted to hospital. I will be there as soon as I am better! Meanwhile wishing all the yatris, my colleagues in UP who have worked hard towards making arrangements for the yatra and my sweet brother, all success as they reach Chandauli today.”

The yatra gains further momentum as former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and Samajwadi Party chief, Akhilesh Yadav, is set to join forces with Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra. Following a seat-sharing pact with the Congress Party, the yatra is headed towards Agra on February 25. The Samajwadi Party, including Party MP from Moradabad ST Hasan, has shown solidarity and support for the Congress yatra.

Samajwadi Party (SP) MP ST Hasan stated, “Yes, we too will walk with them (Congress) till the territory of Moradabad. He (Akhilesh Yadav) will join tomorrow or maybe in Agra the day after.”

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge personally extended an invitation to Akhilesh Yadav to join hands with Rahul Gandhi in Agra, highlighting the unity among opposition parties.

In a crucial development for the opposition alliance, the Congress and the Samajwadi Party recently announced a seat-sharing arrangement for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh. As per the alliance, the Congress will contest 17 seats while the SP and its allied parties will contest the remaining 63 seats, setting the stage for a unified front against the ruling party.
