The voting to decide the idol of Lord Ram Lalla idol for the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple is slated to be held today. The consecration is scheduled to take place on January 22 and this decision is a crucial step taken less than a month before the main date closes in.

The main decision will be taken after voting is done while a meeting of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra is being held. For the unacquainted, this organization is the one responsible for overseeing the construction and management of the temple.

There are a total of three designs that are crafted by separate sculptors that will be presented. The idol that receives the highest number of votes will be presented to be installed inside the sanctum sanctorum.

On January 22, when the main inauguration is set to take place, there will be a morning puja that will be held. The main ceremony shall be held in the afternoon wherein the idol will be unveiled and find it’s permanent place under the ‘Mrigashira Nakshatra’.
