A devastating incident occurred as 28-year-old Laxmi Narayana Vinjam tragically passed away while undergoing a ‘smile designing’ procedure at the FMS International Dental Clinic located in Hyderabad’s Jubilee Hills on February 16.

The police reported that Vinjam, who was preparing for his upcoming wedding, suffered a fatal outcome during the surgery aimed at enhancing his smile.

According to Ramulu Vinjam, the grieving father of the deceased, his son allegedly succumbed to an overdose of anesthesia. Recounting the harrowing experience, Ramulu Vinjam stated that the clinic staff contacted him after his son lost consciousness during the surgery, urging him to rush to the clinic. “We hurriedly transported him to a nearby hospital, but unfortunately, the medical professionals pronounced him brought dead upon arrival,” he lamented. Ramulu Vinjam further revealed that his son had not disclosed the surgery to them beforehand and had no pre-existing health conditions. “The responsibility for his demise lies with the doctors,” he asserted.

Following a formal complaint lodged by the family, authorities have initiated legal action against the clinic, citing negligence. “We are currently examining the hospital records and reviewing security camera footage,” officials confirmed.

The untimely death of Laxmi Narayana Vinjam has cast a somber shadow, prompting scrutiny into the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident and underscoring the importance of stringent oversight in medical procedures.
