Former Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal (Retd.) RKS Bhadauria officially joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in New Delhi on Sunday (March 24), marking his entry into politics nearly two and a half years after retiring from the armed forces. His induction into the BJP took place in the presence of Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur and BJP National General Secretary Vinod Tawde.

RKS Bhadauria served as the 23rd Air Force Chief from September 30, 2019, to September 30, 2021. He hails from Bah tehsil in Agra district. Sources suggest that the BJP is considering him as a potential Lok Sabha candidate from Ghaziabad.

Upon joining the BJP, the retired Air Chief Marshal expressed gratitude towards the party leadership for the opportunity to contribute to nation-building once again. He highlighted his service in the Indian Air Force (IAF) for over four decades, emphasizing that the most fulfilling period was during the last eight years under the BJP government led by Narendra Modi.

He commended the government’s initiatives to promote self-reliance in the defence sector, stating that they have not only enhanced the capabilities of the armed forces but also instilled a renewed sense of confidence. According to him, the tangible outcomes of these efforts are visible on the ground and are crucial for India’s security and global stature.

“The government’s focus on self-reliance is yielding significant results and will elevate India’s position internationally,” Bhadauria concluded.
