Ireland Wins Hosting for Three-Match T20I Against Pakistan in May; PCB Reveals Fixture

PCB has revealed the itinerary for Pakistan’s upcoming tour to Ireland, featuring a riveting three-match T20I series.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has revealed the itinerary for Pakistan’s upcoming tour to Ireland, featuring a riveting three-match T20I series.

Scheduled for May 10, 12, and 14, the electrifying clashes will unfold at the iconic Castle Avenue in Dublin.

This series forms a crucial segment of Pakistan’s strategic preparation, encompassing 12 matches in anticipation of the forthcoming T20 World Cup set to be held in the United States and the West Indies. Preceding the Irish tour, New Zealand is slated to visit Pakistan in April for a high-stakes five-match T20I series, with the opening encounter set for April 18. The concluding match is scheduled for April 27. Subsequently, Pakistan will embark on a four-T20I campaign in England, commencing on May 22.

The last time Pakistan graced Irish shores was during Ireland’s maiden Test match in 2018, marking a significant milestone for both nations in their cricketing journey. However, their anticipated clash in July 2020 was regrettably postponed due to the global Covid-19 pandemic.

Meanwhile, Ireland approaches the T20Is against Pakistan following a mixed outing against Afghanistan in the UAE earlier this month. Despite succumbing to defeat in the ODI and T20I series, Ireland managed to etch a historic victory in the Test format, igniting a spark of hope as they gear up for the upcoming challenges.

With both teams eyeing a formidable campaign in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup slated for June, the encounter between Pakistan and Ireland on June 16 in the tournament’s initial Group Stage looms as a pivotal showdown
