A day after a police recruitment exam was canceled due to a paper leak, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated on Sunday that the incident would be thoroughly investigated for wrongdoing, and those responsible would face appropriate consequences.

The candidates erupted in celebration on Saturday following the official announcement of the exam’s cancellation.

Speaking at an event held at Lucknow’s Lok Bhavan to distribute appointment letters to candidates selected for approximately 1,800 vacant positions across various government departments, CM Adityanath expressed his disappointment, stating that such acts jeopardize the future of the state’s youth.

Labeling the paper leak as a ‘national sin,’ CM Adityanath emphasized, “We have always believed that a transparent recruitment process is crucial, as it affects the futures of talented youth and may lead them to migrate. Injustice to the youth is a national sin. Therefore, we have maintained a zero-tolerance policy against such practices from the very beginning, dealing strictly with such elements whenever such situations arise.”

Referring to those involved in the leak as ‘deceitful individuals,’ the CM mentioned their misuse of technology for their malicious intentions while reiterating the government’s commitment to thwarting all such attempts.

In congratulating the youth selected for various departments, the chief minister highlighted that their selection aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, which is also the mission of the double-engine government. “The government is dedicated to ensuring that every youth receives their rights fairly and transparently. As a result, in the past 7 years, over 6 lakh youths have been employed in government departments of the state in a transparent manner,” added CM Yogi.

Pointing out the investment proposals worth Rs 40 lakh crore received during the UP Global Investors Summit 2023 and the launch of projects worth Rs 10,24,000 crore during the Ground Breaking Ceremony 2024, CM Yogi emphasized that the projects initiated during GBC@4.0 will create jobs for 34 lakh youths upon completion.

He encouraged the newly selected candidates to fulfill their responsibilities with honesty, focusing on the state and country’s development while contributing to the vision of Viksit BHARAT (developed India). He also urged the recruits to show empathy towards the poor and underprivileged.

“Ensure punctuality at work and prioritize tasks. Avoid leaving any pending files, as procrastination can lead to a backlog of work, resulting in disciplinary action,” noted the CM.

“You have reached this milestone with the love and blessings of your parents, teachers, friends, and well-wishers. However, this should not be considered the end goal. It’s time for you to give your best efforts. Your hard work and performance in the first 10 years of your job will pave the way for your department’s future,” he concluded.
