At Namo Ghat in Varanasi, PM Modi inaugurated the second phase of Kashi Tamil Sangamam 2023, aligning with his vision of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat.’ This cultural initiative reflects the government’s dedication to promoting unity and diversity across the nation.

During the visit, the Prime Minister also flagged off the Varanasi-Delhi Vande Bharat Express, signaling a boost to the country’s rail connectivity. The launch of this high-speed train is expected to enhance transportation efficiency and connectivity between the two prominent cities.

In addition to inaugurating the dedicated freight corridor, PM Modi flagged off the Dohrighat-Mau MEMU train and a pair of Long Haul goods trains. This move is set to contribute to the efficient movement of goods and bolster economic activities in the region.

A notable highlight of the visit was the flagging off of the 10,000th locomotive manufactured by Banaras Locomotive Works, showcasing the strides made in indigenous locomotive production.
