Israel-Hamas War: IDF Acknowledges Security Failures in Hamas Attack

The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) also carried out strikes against Hezbollah squads in southern Lebanon, preventing potential attacks on Israel.

The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) representative, Major Doron, stated on Monday that Israel faced multiple security failures during the October 7 attack by Hamas. Major Doron emphasized that these security failures, encompassing intelligence, military, and other areas, need independent inquiries for a comprehensive understanding. He expressed a commitment to learn from these failures for future tasks, saying, “For us as a country, we will conduct investigations, but not now. After a few months, we will thoroughly examine every aspect so that we can improve and prevent such events from happening again.”

Regarding Hamas’ attack on Israel on October 7, Major Doron noted the severity of the situation, saying, “I have never seen anyone face such slaughter. It’s not human what they did here.” He highlighted the tragic consequences of the attack, which resulted in the deaths of numerous innocent civilians, including women, children, and the elderly.

Notably, in response to the attack, Israel launched a strong counter-offensive against Hamas, targeting the terror group’s units. Some members of Hamas managed to retreat into Gaza with over 200 civilian hostages.

The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) also carried out strikes against Hezbollah squads in southern Lebanon, preventing potential attacks on Israel. These actions were part of ongoing efforts to address security threats in the region.

Furthermore, Israel announced its intention to launch a ground operation against Hamas in the near future. This development prompted some individuals from southern Israel to relocate to Jerusalem due to security concerns.
