The NIA court has found Kashmiri separatist leader Yasin Malik guilty of terror funding. The charges had already been admitted by Yasin.

The conviction of Yasin Malik, who has been spreading terrorism in the Valley for more than two decades, has given Pakistan a shiver.

Meanwhile, Pakistan began maneuvering even before the NIA court handed down its decision on Yasin on Thursday. Pakistan summoned the in-charge of the Indian Embassy in Islamabad on Wednesday night. The Pakistani Foreign Ministry delivered the embassy official a document (demarche) containing complaints to the levelling of “false allegations” against Yasin Malik.

The Kashmiri Hurriyat leader Malik is currently imprisoned in Delhi’s Tihar Jail. According to Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry, Indian government has falsely accused Malik in order to silence the Kashmiri leadership.

However, Pakistan has asked the Indian government clear Malik of all unfounded allegations and quickly release him from prison so that he can see his family, restore his health, and live a normal life. Pakistan has said all of this while Yasin Malik has publicly confessed to all of the crimes.

Yasin Malik, Shabbir Shah, Masarat Alam, former MLA Rashid Engineer, businessman Zahoor Ahmad Shah Watali, and a slew of other Kashmiri separatist leaders have been charged with criminal conspiracy, waging war against the country, and other nefarious crimes. Charges have been prepared as well.

The case involves the Lashkar-e-Taiba, Hizbul-Mujahideen, Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front, and Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist organisations. To destabilize the situation in Jammu and Kashmir, they engage in terrorist and separatist actions.
