Bollywood actress Richa Chadha has come under criticism over a tweet on the 2020 Galwan battle, in which numerous Indian Army men perished.

Richa on Wednesday responded to Northern Army Commander Lt General Upendra Dwivedi’s declaration that Indian Army is ready to execute instructions such as retaking Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). Richa turned to Twitter to share a tweet about the statement, writing, “Galwan says hey.”

As soon as she posted this, social media erupted, with individuals accusing her of disrespecting Indian army by mentioning the 2020 battle between India and China.

A user Twitted saying, “Mocking our warriors’ sacrifice at Galwan Valley. Disgraceful and shameful.”

Another user said, “‘Galwan says hello,’ writes Richa Chadha in reaction to a commanding officer’s statement on POK. Those who dedicated their life for India are being disrespected. Making fun of the Indian army. She demonstrates once again that there is no limit to how low this industry can go. They are only worth a boycott.”

Following Richa’s twitter post, BJP’s Manjinder Singh Sirsa tweeted, “Tweet was disgraceful. Should be pulled as soon as possible. Insulting our armed personnel is unacceptable.”

Meanwhile, Lt General Upendra Dwivedi’s speech referred to the Defence Minister’s recent address, in which he restated New Delhi’s determination to reclaim Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), stating that all refugees will be returned to their homes and lands.
