Over a hundred drones put up an amazing show in Ahmedabad on Thursday before the 36th National Games’ opening ceremony.

The Botlab Dynamics-designed and -produced drone display sketched the American flag, Sardar Patel’s picture, and the games’ emblem. Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared images from the occasion on Twitter.

For the first time ever, the national games are being hosted in Gujarat. It will take place from September 29 until October 12, 2022. The largest National Games ever will take place with about 15,000 athletes, coaches, and officials competing in 36 sports disciplines from throughout the nation.

The six cities of Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Surat, Vadodara, Rajkot, and Bhavnagar will host the athletic activities.

The 36th National Games will pick up steam on Friday at the Mahatma Mandir Complex in Gandhinagar, with competitions in nine more sports starting a day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi formally declared the Games open with a grand ceremony. Olympic weightlifting silver medalist Mirabai Chanu will be the biggest draw.

Recently, a swarm of drones illuminated the night sky above the India Gate complex in honour of the recently installed colossal statue of Netaji and to honour the life and memory of freedom hero Subhas Chandra Bose.
