Congressman Jairam Ramesh poked fun at Ghulam Nabi Azad on Friday, saying that the “ground reality” of the Congress in Jammu and Kashmir was distinct from the stories “created by individuals sitting in New Delhi in Modi Sarkar-sanctioned villas.”

“This is ground reality, not reality fabricated by individuals sitting in New Delhi in Modi Sarkar sanctioned houses with large lawns and spreading fake news,” Jairam Ramesh commented on Twitter, tagging a video of the Jammu and Kashmir Congress.

According to a tweet from the Jammu and Kashmir Congress, on September 1, the Congress volunteers from every block in the Bhallessa Sub Division met in Gandoh’s party office. It went on to say that the conference had been going on for more than 50 years.

Notably, Ghulam Nabi Azad, a former leader of the Congress, is from Bhalessa.

However, Jammu and Kashmir Congress tweeted, “All of the blocks in Sub Division Bhallessa’s Congress workers gathered at the Congress office in Gandoh for the monthly meeting, which has been held on the first of every month for more than 50 years. Ghulam Nabi Azad hails from the hamlet of Bhalessa.”

Earlier on August 26, Azad announced his resignation from all party positions, blaming Rahul Gandhi’s “immaturity” for “demolishing the consultative system” in the party.
