In the midst of the political chaos in Jharkhand, Chief Minister Hemant Soren contacted state Congress chief Avinash Pande on Sunday to discuss the next step.
The hour-long meeting between the two leaders happened in the state guest house. Soren responded, “Governor Ramesh Bais can address this better,” when questioned about the delay in the governor’s decision about the Chief Minister’s position.
Rajesh Thakur, president of the Jharkhand Congress, stated following the meeting, “Avinash Pande, the state director for the Congress, and the chief minister met for this discussion. The information they discussed should not be made public. However, they did talk about the political climate in the state and the general air of uncertainty.”
Congress Legislative Party convened a meeting earlier on Saturday night to discuss the best course of action moving forward.
Following the meeting, Congress leader and Health Minister Banna Gupta said on Saturday that a plot had been developed to topple the state’s administration.
“Our state government was the target of a plot. Elected governments are being overthrown across. It is now accepted as normal. There is no government crisis since Congress is adamantly opposed to it “After the Congress Legislative Party conference, Gupta stated.
Avinash Pande, the Jharkhand Congress’s point man, arrived in Ranchi on Saturday and presided over the gathering.
The ruling alliance contains 30 Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) MLAs, 18 Congress MLAs, and one Rashtriya Janata Dal MLA in the 81-member Jharkhand Assembly (RJD).
A meeting of the state’s governing UPA coalition members was convened by Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Saturday amid rumours that he would lose his status as an MLA in the state parliament for allegedly breaking election rules by giving himself a mining lease.
It had been two days since the previous encounter. Several MLAs were seen carrying bags as they entered the conference.
