Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) conducted multiple raids at various places connected to Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on August 19, including his residence. Sisodia, who is in charge of the excise department, is accused of corruption in the liquor policy. The raids led to an argument between the AAP and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Raids were carried out in seven states and about 31 locations in Delhi-NCR in relation to an alleged excise scam. In FIR filed, the investigative agency listed 15 suspects, including Sisodia.

Alongside Sisodia, Arva Gopi Krishna, the then commissioner (excise); Anand Tiwari, the then deputy commissioner (excise); Pankaj Bhatnagar, assistant commissioner (excise); Vijay Nair, former CEO, Only Much Louder, an entertainment and event management company; Manoj Rai, ex-employee of Pernod Ricard; Amandeep Dhal, director, Brindco Sales Pvt. Ltd; Sameer Mahendru, managing director; lndospirit Group have been mentioned in the FIR copy.

Sisodia said that he would continue to cooperate with the CBI and that he had done nothing wrong after the lengthy CBI raid came to an end on Friday. “CBI team came this morning. They searched my house and seized my computer and phone. My family cooperated with them and will continue to cooperate. We have not done any corruption or wrong. We are not afraid. We know that CBI is being misused,” Sisodia said.

AAP MP Sanjay Singh stated the BJP was “rattled” by the “growing popularity” of Kejriwal and his style of governance.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann Friday slammed the CBI raid at Manish Sisodia’s house, who he labeled as the “best education minister of Independent India”
