According to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Surat will become one of the world’s safest and most practical diamond trade centres after Diamond Research and Mercantile (DREAM) City is completed.

PM Modi spoke after announcing development projects worth Rs 3,400 crore “Surat will transform into one of the world’s safest and most practical diamond trade centres once the “Dream City” project is finished. The power loom mega cluster, which would alleviate the challenges for the power loom employees, has received official permission. Additionally, it will address the environmental issues.”

Notably, the DREAM City project was started with the intention of supplying the expanding need for office and residential space for Surat’s fast-expanding diamond trade industry.

The prime minister referred to Surat as a “mini-India” and said that residents from all across the nation reside there.

“It is an honour for me to officially lay the cornerstone for Gujarat’s infrastructure, sports facilities, and spiritual destinations during the present Navratri celebrations. Surat is a wonderful illustration of “Jan Bhagidari” and harmony. Surat is like a mini-India with residents from all over the country “he added.

The four Ps, or “People’s Public Private Partnership,” the prime minister said, “make Surat a distinctive city.”

“In the early years of this century, whenever the three Ps of public-private partnerships were discussed, I would use Surat as an illustration of the four Ps of people’s public-private partnerships. Surat is unique because of this paradigm. Surat is one of the cities in the world that is now expanding most quickly, which is good for any business, therefore I’m happy about it “he said.

“For the underprivileged in Surat, we constructed almost 80,000 houses over the past 20 years, improving their quality of life. Over 4 crore low-income people in the country received free medical care under the Ayushman Bharat programme, with over 32 lakh of those patients being from Gujarat and 1.25 lakh from Surat “Modi the PM said.

The Prime Minister held a roadshow earlier today. The Prime Minister’s cavalcade was greeted by a sizable audience as it advanced.

He will next proceed to Bhavnagar to lay the cornerstone and launch many construction projects totaling more than Rs 5,200 crore.

The world’s first CNG terminal and a brownfield port will both have their foundations officially laid by the prime minister in the city. The port would be built at a cost of more than Rs 4,000 crore and will include cutting-edge CNG terminal equipment. Modern container terminals, multifunctional terminals, and liquid terminals with direct door-to-door access to the existing road and rail network will all be present at the port.

A 20-acre, about Rs 100 crore regional scientific centre in Bhavnagar will also be opened by the prime minister.

The centre features a number of galleries with specific themes, such as the Nobel Prize gallery, automotive gallery, and marine aquatic exhibition. Children will have access to the center’s creative space.
