In connection with the Phulwari Sharif terror module investigation, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted searches at numerous places in Bihar on Thursday, according to sources.
The districts of Bihar’s Darbhanga, Arariya, Chhapra, and Patna are location raided.
According to a senior official source, numerous NIA teams conducted similar searches at the residences and other locations of the accused.
In the Phulwari Sharif terror module investigation, the NIA has filed two distinct First Information Reports, one of which mentions a plot by criminals to obstruct Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s planned visit to Bihar by some suspected people.
Both of the FIRs were filed on July 22. The first mentions a plot to obstruct the PM’s visit by some suspects who had gathered in the Phulwari Sharif neighbourhood on July 11, while the other is connected to the Bihar Police’s detention of one Margub Ahmad Danish alias Tahir on July 14 for his alleged involvement in anti-India activities and radicalization of impressionable youth through a variety of social media platforms.
On July 11, 2022, several people who were suspected had gathered in the Phulwari Sharif area indicated the first FIR during the prime minister’s intended trip to Bihar.
The FIR further alleged that two people, Athar Parvej and Mohd Jalaluddin from Patna, were intercepted during a raid on classified information.
The FIR, which listed 26 suspects, also states that Bihar Police initially filed the case at Phulwari Sharif police station on July 12.
Based on a directive from the Ministry of Home Affairs’ Counter Terrorism and Counter Radicalization Division, which recognised the seriousness of the offence and its implications for national security, the NIA took over the case and re-registered it.
The interception of Margub Ahmad Danish alias Tahir, a resident of Munir Colony in Phulwari Sharif, on July 14 is the basis for the second FIR.
The FIR claims that Tahir was engaged in “anti-India activities and radicalising youth using various social media platforms.”
Margub Ahmad Danish was questioned, and it came out that he was the administrator of two WhatsApp groups called “Ghazwa-e-Hind” and another group on BIP chat with the same name. The FIR further claimed that he was involved in radicalising naive young people in India.
