The 36th National Games was officially launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday during a ceremony held at the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad. Modi said that the country’s success in other arenas is made possible by the players’ great performance in their wins. Sports have a soft power that improves the nation’s identity and reputation in several ways.

Players from India used to compete in less than a hundred international competitions up until eight years ago. More than 300 international competitions now feature Indian athletes,” Modi stated.
