Praveen Nettaru murder case: NIA conducts searches at multiple locations in 3 districts of K'taka

In connection with the investigation into the death of BJP Yuva Morcha leader Praveen Nettaru, 32, the National Investigation Agency carried out several searches on Tuesday in three districts of Karnataka.

In connection with the investigation into the death of BJP Yuva Morcha leader Praveen Nettaru, 32, the National Investigation Agency carried out several searches on Tuesday in three districts of Karnataka.

The agency said in a statement that it searched 33 places in the case in the Karnataka districts of Mysuru, Kodagu, and Dakshina Kannada. On July 27, 2022, the crime was first reported to Bellare Police Station in the Dakshina Kannada District. On August 4, 2022, NIA re-reported the case.

According to the NIA, the Popular Front of India (PFI) members who are accused “had planned and carried out the murder of Praveen Nettaru as part of a broader plot to strike terror among the members of a section of society.”

The agency has taken cash, improvised weapons, digital gadgets, used ammunition, damning documents, and other things from the suspects and accused in the case.

It said, “Digital devices, used ammunition, improvised guns, cash, incriminating papers, pamphlets and literature have been confiscated during the searches performed today at the houses of accused and suspects.”

The case is currently under investigation.
