Rahul Gandhi Expresses Familial Bond with Wayanad Constituents

In a heartfelt statement, Gandhi underscored his deep connection with his constituents, likening his relationship with them to that of his younger sister, Priyanka Gandhi. He emphasized that he doesn’t perceive the people of Wayanad merely as voters but as cherished members of his extended family.

Rahul Gandhi, Congress leader and MP from Wayanad, conveyed his heartfelt gratitude to the people of his constituency for their unwavering support during the last general elections. Addressing a gathering ahead of filing his nomination for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Gandhi expressed his profound appreciation for the affection and love bestowed upon him by the residents of Wayanad.

In a heartfelt statement, Gandhi underscored his deep connection with his constituents, likening his relationship with them to that of his younger sister, Priyanka Gandhi. He emphasized that he doesn’t perceive the people of Wayanad merely as voters but as cherished members of his extended family.

“I treat you and think of you the same way I think of my little sister Priyanka. So in the houses of Wayanad, I have sisters, mothers, fathers, and brothers. And I thank you from the bottom of my heart for that,” Gandhi stated.

Promising to be a steadfast advocate for Wayanad’s issues, Gandhi assured the gathering of his unwavering commitment to addressing their concerns on national and global platforms. He highlighted pressing issues such as man-animal conflict and the need for a medical college in the region, pledging to champion these causes vigorously.

“We have tried to pressure the government on the medical college, I have written letters to the CM. But unfortunately, they have not moved forward. I am convinced that if we have a government in Delhi and when we get a government in Kerala, both of which we will do, we will resolve these issues,” he affirmed.

Expressing his genuine sentiments, Gandhi reiterated his appreciation for the unconditional love, respect, and support extended to him by the people of Wayanad, transcending political affiliations and demographics.

Earlier in the day, Gandhi led a spirited roadshow in the constituency, drawing massive crowds of party workers and supporters. Accompanied by his sister Priyanka Gandhi and other prominent party leaders, Gandhi’s nomination filing event marked a significant moment in the electoral landscape of Wayanad.

As the Lok Sabha elections approach, Wayanad braces itself for a spirited electoral contest, with multiple parties vying for victory. In the 2019 polls, Gandhi secured a resounding victory from Wayanad, securing the highest margin of votes in Kerala. With the election fervor picking up, Wayanad remains a crucial battleground in the political arena.
