As the city was enveloped by shallow fog and mist on Friday morning, the air quality in the national capital remained in “extremely bad” category.
According to the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR) statistics, the overall Air Quality Index (AQI) was 335 at 9:13 a.m. The level of PM 2.5 and PM 10 in Delhi was 165 in the ‘very poor’ category and 281 in the ‘poor’ category, respectively.
The air quality in Noida and Gurugram was likewise classified as very bad, with AQIs of 375 and 308, respectively.
The air quality at the Delhi University region was classified as ‘very bad,’ with an AQI of 359; Pusa had an AQI of 322; and Dhirpur had an AQI of 397.
Lodhi Road had an AQI of 359, Delhi Airport (T3) had an AQI of 338, and Mathura Road had an AQI of 335.
At 9:33 a.m. on Friday, the AQI at IIT Delhi was 310, while Ayanagar air quality was similarly in ‘very bad’ category at 310.
Air Quality Indexes ranging from 0 to 100 are regarded as excellent, while those ranging from 100 to 200 are considered moderate, those ranging from 200 to 300 are considered bad, those ranging from 300 to 400 are considered extremely poor, and those ranging from 400 to 500 or above are deemed severe.
