Tragedy Strikes: Four Children Killed, Dozens Injured as Bus Overturns in UP's Barabanki

Four children were killed and around a dozen got injured after the bus carrying them overturned in Uttar Pradesh’s Barabanki district, police said on Tuesday.

A devastating accident claimed the lives of four children and left several others injured when a bus transporting them overturned in Barabanki district, Uttar Pradesh. The tragic incident occurred near Salarpur village under the jurisdiction of Dewa police station.

Reports suggest that the bus driver lost control while attempting to avoid a collision with a motorbike, leading to the fatal overturn. The children, who were students of Composite School, Harakka, were returning from a picnic at Lucknow Zoo.

Upon receiving the distressing news, police swiftly responded to the scene and commenced rescue operations with the assistance of local villagers. The injured children were promptly transported to the district hospital for urgent medical attention.

Recounting the harrowing experience, a school teacher accompanying the students described the educational trip to Lucknow, which tragically ended in the bus accident while en route back to Suratganj.

Confirming the grim outcome, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) of Barabanki, CN Sinha, acknowledged the loss of four young lives and affirmed that the injured children are receiving medical care at the district hospital.
