Manish Sisodia to speak at public meeting in Gujarat

On Tuesday, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia will attend a public meeting in poll-bound Gujarat, a day after being questioned by the CBI for nine hours.

Manish Sisodia, the Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, is scheduled to visit Gujarat for two days and attend a public meeting on Tuesday. This comes a day after the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) questioned him for nine hours about his suspected role in the Delhi liquor policy case.

Sisodia’s travel to Gujarat comes ahead of the state assembly election, which is expected to take place later this year. He will conduct a news conference at 12 p.m. and then speak at a public gathering this evening.

“Whenever I went to Gujarat previously, wherever I went, people informed me how poor the state of the schools are,” Sisodia remarked ahead of his visit to Gujarat.

“Everyone is sad there,” he noted, “since the BJP was in power for 27 years and did nothing except close down schools.” He added, “If it can happen in Delhi, it can happen in Gujarat as well.”

SISODIA: CBI SUMMONS A PLOY TO LEAVE AAP

“How the BJP misuses the CBI and Enforcement Directorate (ED) is known to everybody,” the Delhi education minister said of his CBI grilling. “They turned the entire CBI and ED into a political machine.”

He went on to say that his questions on Monday revealed that the “priority of the central agencies is not on the liquor policy.”

He said that he was summoned just to frighten him with leaving the AAP and joining the BJP. “However, the BJP is such a filthy party that joining them would be like destroying one’s soul.”

He went on to say that the investigation agency’s goal was to arrest him. “Perhaps they will summon me again,” he replied, “but the people of Gujarat will vote for the schools and they will not be able to stop it.”

He stated that the Gujarati people now trust the AAP to establish decent schools and hospitals in the state.
