PM Modi inspects Shivpur-Phulwaria-Lahartara marg in Varanasi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Varanasi on February 23 kicked off with a flurry of activities aimed at bolstering the city’s infrastructure and enhancing the quality of life for its residents. Amidst a packed schedule, PM Modi embarked on a series of inspections and inaugurations, underscoring the government’s commitment to the holistic development of Varanasi.

One of the key highlights of the visit was the inspection of the Shivpur-Phulwaria-Lahartara marg, a project showcasing inter-ministerial coordination involving Railways and Defense. With an investment of Rs 360 crore, this initiative aims to streamline connectivity and reduce travel time from Banaras Hindu University (BHU) to the airport, significantly enhancing the ease of living for Varanasi’s citizens.

Upon his arrival at Varanasi airport, PM Modi was warmly received by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, setting the tone for a day filled with significant announcements and inaugurations. The day commenced with PM Modi’s participation in a program at Swatantra Bhawan of BHU, followed by a visit to the birthplace of Saint Shiromani Ravidas, where he paid homage and addressed devotees. Subsequently, PM Modi inaugurated multiple projects at Banas Kashi Sankul (Amul Dairy), reinforcing the government’s commitment to agricultural and industrial development.

The foundation stone for the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) and a new medical college in Varanasi underscored the government’s focus on bolstering education and healthcare infrastructure. Additionally, the inauguration of Sigra Sports Stadium Phase 1 and District Rifle Shooting Range marked a significant stride towards nurturing sporting talent in the city.

Urban development took center stage as PM Modi inaugurated projects ranging from waste-to-charcoal plants to the rejuvenation of ponds and parks, reflecting a comprehensive approach towards sustainable growth. In total, PM Modi launched 23 schemes worth Rs 10,972 crore and laid the foundation stone for 12 schemes worth Rs 2,195.07 crore, signaling a transformative phase in Varanasi’s journey towards prosperity and progress. As the city embraces these initiatives, PM Modi’s visit reaffirms the government’s unwavering commitment to realizing the aspirations of its citizens and fostering inclusive development across all sectors.
