 PM Modi started his tour with a visit to Uttar Pradesh. He visited Gorakhpur, where he inaugurated and laid the foundation stones of multiple development projects.

In Uttar Pradesh, PM Modi visited Gorakhpur where he inaugurated the redevelopment of Gorakhpur Railway Station and flagged off two Vande Bharat Express trains. The tour was seen as a part of PM Modi’s preparations for the upcoming 2024 general election.

PM Narendra Modi, along with UP CM Yogi Adityanath, attended the closing ceremony of the centenary celebrations of Gita Press in Gorakhpur. In his speech, PM Modi said that Gita Press had played a “pivotal role” in spreading the message of the Bhagavad Gita and promoting Hindu culture. He said that the publishing house had “helped to shape the minds of millions of Indians” and had “played a significant role in India’s freedom struggle.”

PM Modi also announced that the government of India would be setting up a research center on the Bhagavad Gita at Gita Press. He said that the center would be a “global hub” for research on the Gita and would help to promote the message of the Gita to the world. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also spoke at the event and praised Gita Press for its contribution to Indian culture. He said that Gita Press was a “living embodiment” of the ideals of the Bhagavad Gita and that it had played a “significant role” in spreading the message of peace and non-violence.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off two Vande Bharat Express trains from Gorakhpur railway station. The trains, Gorakhpur-Lucknow Vande Bharat Express and Jodhpur-Ahmedabad (Sabarmati) Vande Bharat Express, are the 10th and 11th Vande Bharat Express trains to be operational in India.

The trains are equipped with a number of modern features, including:

  • LHB coaches
  • Automatic Train Protection (ATP) system
  • CCTV cameras
  • GPS-based passenger information system
  • Biometric toilets
  • Mobile charging points
  • The trains are also designed to be energy efficient, with features such as LED lighting and solar panels.

PM Modi, while flagging off the trains, said that the Vande Bharat Express trains are a symbol of India’s progress and development. He said that the trains will provide a comfortable and safe travel experience to the passengers.
