Sky enthusiasts have an exciting event on the horizon as a total solar eclipse, known as ‘The Great North American Eclipse’, is set to grace the skies over North America on April 8. Total solar eclipses are infrequent celestial occurrences, visible only from select locations, making them a source of anticipation among dedicated stargazers.
Google is joining in on the celebration by featuring a special animation for the occasion. When users search for information on the total solar eclipse, they will encounter a graphical representation of the phenomenon, illustrating the Moon moving between the Earth and the Sun, either partially or completely obscuring the Sun’s light.
This year’s total solar eclipse promises to be particularly rare, with the moon completely covering the sun, resulting in the appearance of a “ring of fire” during the event.
The total solar eclipse is scheduled to commence at 9:12 pm Indian Standard Time (IST), with totality starting at 10:08 pm and concluding at 2:22 am IST on April 9.
