In the ongoing Second Test at Edgbaston, India finished at 310/5 on Day 1, with Shubman Gill unbeaten on 114 and Ravindra Jadeja 41 not out. Yashasvi Jaiswal’s vital 87 helped India build a solid foundation after England’s Ben Stokes elected to field. Chris Woakes was the standout bowler for England, claiming two wickets. India made three changes to their lineup, while England remained unchanged. India extend their innings to 587 on second day, with Gill producing a magnificent 269—his highest score by an Indian in England—showcasing great technique and patience. Ravindra Jadeja contributed a valuable 89 before falling to Josh Tongue’s bouncer. England started their second innings cautiously, ending the day at 77/3, with Harry Brook and Joe Root steady at the crease. India’s dominant batting display has put them in a strong position, while England’s batsmen have shown resilience trying to recover under pressure.     The second Test between India and England has reached an exciting position at the end of day 3. After getting a lead of 180 runs, India have scored 64 runs for the loss of opener Yashasvi Jaiswal and leads by 244 runs. The left-hander Jaiswal made a quick 28 before getting dismissed by Josh Tongue. KL Rahul and Karun Nair remained not out as the day came to an end.

    England All Out! Siraj Picks Up Six Wickets

    Mohammed Siraj took six wickets and helped India gain a massive lead of 180 runs in the second Test of the Tendulkar-Anderson Trophy. After a demoralizing partnership of 303 runs between Brook and Smith, Indian bowlers made a comeback in style and knocked England over for 407 runs. Siraj took 6 for 70 while his new-ball partner Akashdeep picked up the remaining four wickets. For England, Jamie Smith remained unbeaten at 184. India will begin their second innings shortly.

    India Bounce Back With Quick Wickets

    Indian bowlers made a remarkable comeback in the third session after being punished for most parts of the day. After breaking the 300 plus partnership between Smith and Root, the duo of Akashdeep and Siraj joined hands to quickly polish off the tail as Siraj picked up a fifer. This is his fourth five-wicket haul in Test cricket. England are currently batting at 407-9 and the end of their innings is well in sight.

    It’s a wicket! After a long period of time, India have managed to break through as Akashdeep strikes with the second new ball. He dismissed Harry Brook who departed after making a score of 158. Moreover, he formed a gigantic partnership of 303 for the sixth wicket with Smith and smashed the Indian bowlers to all parts of the ground. Currently, England trail India by 199 runs and have 4 wickets in hand. India would hope they can knock over the remaining wickets quickly and get a 100+ lead.

    England were reeling during the first hour of the day as half of their side had gone to the pavilion by 84. But after that, Harry Brook and Jamie Smith made brilliant centuries and led England’s response, bringing them back in the game. As we write this, Smith has completed his 150 and his partnership with Brook is nearing 250. England’s current score: 323-5 in 64 overs.
