Ashish Chanchlani expressed on X, “Considering the current state of affairs on YouTube, I feel inclined to leave this field altogether.

The influence of a social media troll can extend far beyond what one might anticipate. A recent example is the ongoing feud between YouTubers Elvish Yadav and Sagar Thakur, known as Maxtern. A video has emerged showing Elvish confronting Sagar with his friends, initiating physical violence by slapping, kicking, and beating him.

Sagar has formally filed a complaint, prompting shock among many online users, particularly fellow content creators. YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani has addressed the unfolding scandal, labeling it the “darkest day” for Indian creators.

Ashish Chanchlani expressed on X, “Considering the current state of affairs on YouTube, I feel inclined to leave this field altogether. Yesterday marked the darkest day for YouTube India. This incident was unnecessary and could have been prevented.”

It all began when Sagar Thakur made a comment about the relationship between Elvish Yadav and Munawar Faruqui. In a video, Sagar Thakur claimed that he received threats from Elvish Yadav after making the comment. He stated, “He threatened to kill me. I was alone, while Elvish had brought along many people. I will upload a complete video of the incident tomorrow morning. Everyone will witness what occurred. I am fine, just sustained a cut on my lip, which happened after confronting 8 individuals.”

Following this incident, a video surfaced showing Elvish Yadav entering a store accompanied by several men and assaulting Sagar, which quickly gained widespread attention online. Sagar Thakur subsequently lodged an FIR against Elvish, alleging that “he attempted to fracture my spine with the intention of rendering me physically disabled.”

Meanwhile in the counter, Elvish Yadav released a video statement to provide his perspective on the matter. He admitted to issuing threats to Sagar Thakur in a moment of anger but emphasized that he should not be solely held responsible and harbored no harmful intentions.
