Following the infamous “beef” comment made by the “Tamasha” actor, Bajrang Dal members recently demonstrated against Bollywood celebrities Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt during their visit to Ujjain’s Mahakaleshwar Temple.
Members of the Bajrang Dal declared that because Ranbir has offended their religious sensibilities, Alia and Ranbir would not be allowed to visit the temple’s grounds. One of Ranbir’s earlier interviews, in which the “Barfi” actor mentioned that he enjoys eating beef, was unearthed by some social media users who disseminated the video on other platforms.
The actor is presently dealing with a lot of anger on social media because of his 11-year-old statement, and trolls are pushing people not to watch the movie using the hashtag #BoycottBrahmastra on Twitter.
Ankit Choubey, a Bajrang Dal member, asserted Ranbir Kapoor is revered by Hindu youth in our nation and that his movies receive positive reviews from online audiences. But we disagreed with his claim that he had eaten “beef” in front of a Pakistani anchor since it was unacceptable. Anybody who makes such derogatory remarks about our faith or culture will face backlash.
We were against it when we learned that Ranbir was going to the Baba Mahakaal shrine to receive blessings. Bajrang Dal would again object if any Bollywood celebrity in the future says something disparaging about our faith or culture. In opposition to the movie, Bajrang Dal members displayed black flags and banners at the Mahakaleshwar Temple.
Local police were able to contain the scene, and several demonstrators were physically assaulted by government workers for violating security.
Collector and Mahakaleshwar Temple Trust President Ashish Singh commented on the demonstration by saying, “Although the organisation had already informed us that they would not be protesting at the temple, we had still put in place adequate security. Some team members went to the temple to seek god’s blessings, but others were unable to. In the future, we’ll handle situations like these.”
Only Ayan Mukerji was given permission to get the deity’s benediction; Ranbir and Alia were not permitted to access the Temple grounds.
In a recent media interview, “Brahmaastra Part-1: Shiva” director Ayan Mukerji said, “I felt horrible that Ranbir and Alia couldn’t travel with me.”
The film “Brahmastra” took over 5 years to arrive in theatres despite having a hefty budget of about Rs 410 crores. The movie, which stars Ranbir, Alia, and director Ayan Mukerji, is scheduled for release on September 9. It has been a dream project for Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions.
The film “Brahmastra,” directed by Ayan Mukerji and starring Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy, and south actor Nagarjuna, is scheduled to open in theatres on September 9, 2022, in the languages of Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada.
