Chaari 111 Movie Review: Vennela Kishore's Johnny English Impersonation Falls Short of Expectations

Chaari 111 Movie Review

Among the top comedians in Telugu cinema is Vennela Kishore. He appears in nearly every other Telugu movie that has been released. Kishore has also portrayed the lead in a few unmemorable films. Years later, he reprises his role as the main character in Chaari 111, a comic caper modeled after Johnny English. TG Keerthi Kumar, the director, took inspiration for this film from British comedies and James Bond films. Keerthi Kumar made his feature film debut with Sumanth in Malli Modalaindi. Under the leadership of former military officer Prasada Rao (Murali Sharma), an elite spy agency called Rudra Netra (a reference to Chiranjeevi’s spy actioner Rudra Netra) learns of a blast that occurs in Hyderabad in which a person transforms into a bomb and explodes.

Agent Eesha (Samyuktha Vishwanathan) and Bunty (Thagubothu Ramesh) accompany Chaari on the mission. Here, comedian Sathya portrays Q. The investigation identifies a group led by a chemist who has developed a method for converting organic compounds found in the human gut into explosives. These weapons, which her son Ravan has put back into circulation, may have been designed by a Kashmiri woman from Major Prasada Rao’s previous life. Due to long-standing animosity between them, Chaari and his team must now find the makers of the chemical bombs before they wreak further damage across the nation and specifically target Prasada Rao. There isn’t much of a plot in the first half, with Chaari and his teammates’ foolish and hilarious antics taking center stage.
